Senegal to host 15th international conference on AIDS

Dakar- Senegal (PANA) -- The 15th edition of the international conference on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Africa (ICASA) will be held in Dakar, th e Senegalese capital, from 3 to 7 December, organisers told PANA Thursday.
The conference is organised every other year by the Society for AIDS in Africa ( SAA), under the aegis of the hosting country.
The event will group together over 5,000 delegates from all continents and will be focussed on the main theme: "Africa's response: Face realities".
For organisers, the choice of Senegal, "a hub for research promotion and one of the leaders in the fight against AIDS in Africa", will help to take up the doubl e challenge of good organisation and attendance of HIV/AIDS stakeholders at natio n al and international levels.
The Dakar conference will afford participants, mainly world-famous scientists, t he opportunity to exchange ideas on the pandemic in Africa.
International experts will review HIV infection and sexually transmitted infecti ons at scientific, community, and leadership levels.
Other worrisome infections such as tuberculosis, malaria, and hepatitis will be addressed at the conference.
