Senegal moves against stigma of AIDS sufferers

Dakar- Senegal (PANA) -- Senegalese Health minister Awa Marie Coll Seck will on Saturday in Dakar launch an initiative dubbed 'Secure the Future,' directed at the plight of HIV/AIDS sufferers across West Africa.
Financed by the Bristol Myers Squibb laboratories to the tune of 10 billion francs CFA (1 US dollar = 700 FCFA), the move would prop projects designed to enhance the quality of care provided people living with AIDS.
The Senegalese News Agency reported Thursday that the funds for 'Secure the Future' were raised thanks to the intervention of medical experts and the governments of Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Mali and Senegal.
