Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - Senegal's national carrier, Senegal Airlines, will begin flying the Dakar-Abidjan route from 16 May, according to a statement from the country's Foreign Ministry.
The statement said Senegal's Minister of Foreign Affairs Madické Niang, who was received last week by Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara, discussed with the new Ivorian authorities the issue of granting Senegal Airlines the rights to fly the route.
"Following the instructions given by the Ivorian authorities, the Ivorian National Civil Aviation Agency has already agreed in principle and appropriate steps will be taken so that the Senegalese airline (can) start operating as from Monday, May 16 2011," the statement said.
