Sarkozy stresses importance of African unity for France

Tripoli- Libya (PANA) – Libyan leader Moammar Kadh-afi, who is currently on a visit to Ghana to participate in the AU heads of state and government summit on 1-3 July, had a phone discussion on Friday with French President Nicholas Sarkozy, who stressed the importance of African unity for France.
A Libyan official said that during the conversation, President Sarkozy hoped for the success of efforts made by leader Kadhafi for the achievement of African unity for the promotion and development of the African continent.
Sarkozy also told the Libyan leader that African unity was important for French foreign policy.
The main point on the agenda of the AU summit taking place in Accra, Ghana is the formation of an African federal government.
