Rwandan journalists remember slain colleagues in genocide against Tutsis

Kigali- Rwanda (PANA) -- Rwandan journalists on Thursday staged a march in the capital city of Kigali in memory of 49 colleagues killed during the April-July 1994 genocide in the country.

According to organisers of the memorial programme, 49 Rwandan journalists working for both public and private press were slaughtered along with an estimated one million Rwandans.

They were killed simply because they were Tutsis or refused to condone the heinous propaganda unleashed by Radio Television Libre des Mille Collines (RTLM) and the Kangura newspaper, which then incited and called for mass killings, it said.
