Rwanda demands investigation into death national in Mozambique

Kigali, Rwanda (PANA) – The Rwandan government on Friday strongly condemned the killing of one of its nationals in Mozambique and demanded the opening of a judicial investigation into the death, according to a statement in the Rwandan capital, Kigali.

The former boss of the Rwandan Development Bank (BRD), Théogène Turatsinze, 38, was killed last week in Mozambique by unidentified men.

His body was found near the Indian Ocean by a patrol team of the Mozambican police, not far from his car, according to preliminary investigations conducted by the Mozambican police.

"The Rwandan government particularly demands the opening of judicial investigation into the cause of the death of the former senior civil servant," the statement said.

According to some accounts, Mr Turatsinze was in company of a group of Rwandan nationals who had invited him for a meeting in a suburb of Maputo, the Mozambican capital, before his body was found later by the police.
