Quattara govt. re-opens airports in Cote d'Ivoire

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Hamed Bakayoko, the Minister of Interior in the government of the world-acclaimed Ivorian president-elect, Alassane Ouattara, on Friday announced the re-opening of airports across the country to facilitate the evacuation of foreign nationals from the ongoing "war" there.

However, land borders and sea ports will remain closed until further notice.

The minister urged Ivorians to respect the measure and to remain calm.

Ouattara’s government Thursday ordered the closure of all borders while Abidjan airport remained under the control of the Blue Helmets of the UN Operation in Cote d'Ivoire (ONUCI).
