Prime Minister says law and order is Govt. priority

Port Louis- Mauritius (PANA) -- Mauritian Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth says his government has made law and order a priority in the country.
"There has been a restoration of confidence in the police force," he told MPs Tuesday at the Government House, in Port Louis.
"I am adopting a consistent and holistic approach to this question.
Towards this end, I'll spare no effort to revitalise and restructure the police department," Jugnauth added.
He said efforts were being stepped up to properly equip the police and fill vacancies existing in the force to boost crime control.
