Dakar, Senegal (PANA) – The Senegalese president, Abdoulaye Wade, has condemned the violence which erupted Wednesday in Fanaye, in the region of Saint-Louis, northern Senegal, leaving two persons dead and 20 others injured.
In a communique, issued here Thursday after a cabinet meeting, President Wade said he regretted the death and the entire violence which was caused by a land dispute in the area.
The communiqué said that President Wade had called for a thorough investigation into the matter.
