President Eyadema receives Israeli message

Lome- Togo (PANA) -- Togolese President Gnassingbe Eyadema on Friday received a message from the Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in connection with the World Conference Against Racism scheduled to be held in Durban, South Africa from 31 August to 7 September.
Sharon's emissary, Dr Qadia Siffer, told journalists later that: "The Jewish people share Africa's suffering from racial discrimination.
"They have also been victims of racial discrimination ever since our State was destroyed two thousand years ago.
" According to him, Israel also shares the suffering of its "African friends" from slavery and other wrong deeds.
The Israeli envoy expressed his conviction that the Durban conference would be a golden opportunity for humanity to remember the pains Africans and Jews had endured throughout history.
