President Barrow to meet police chief

Banjul, Gambia (PANA) – Gambian President Adama Barrow will on Friday receive in audience the county’s newly-appointed police chief at State House in Banjul.

According to Amie Bojang Sissoho, the Director of Press and Public Relations at the Office of the President, he will meet the new Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mamour Jobe and the high command of the Gambia Police Force.

The IGP, who was deputy police chief, was appointed recently following the resignation of Landing Kinteh as the police chief over the deadly shooting of some villagers in Faraba by members of the police in a sand winning dispute.

In a similar development, Mrs. Sissoho said that President Barrow will embark on a 10-day nationwide tour from 16 July to dialogue with the people on a variety of pertinent issues.
