Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - The police on Saturday detonated two bombs planted on a bridge in Riyom, some 40kms from the troubled Nigerian central city of Jos.
Police spokesman Abu Emmanuel told journalists that the bombs were planted on the bridge linking Gol-Hoss and Riyom, the headquarters of Riyom council area.
The spokesman said the discovery of the bomb was made following a tip-off, and that a police anti-bomb squad went to the scene to detonate and evacuate the bombs.
Mr. Emmanuel said no arrest had been made in connection with the incident.
The city and its environs have been under siege from the Islamic sect Boko Haram, which have been attacking churches there, in what it said was retaliation for the killing of Muslims.
