Over 75,000 Nigerian pilgrims airlifted for Hajj

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Over 75,000 Nigerian pilgrims were successfully airlifted to Saudi Arabia during the 2013 Hajj Operation, according to the spokesman of the regulatory Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Fan Ndubuoke.  

Mr. Ndubuoke said in a statement issued here Sunday that the pilgrims were transported on the round trip in 166 flight operations.

''There were 135 outbound operational flights to Saudi Arabia and 131 inbound flights from the holy land. The airlift commenced on the 14th September, 2013 and the final inbound flight to Nigeria’s shores landed on the 14th of November, 2013,'' he said, showing that the operations were concluded approximately five days  before the appointed time.
