Opposition, pro-govt Mauritanian partisans clash in Brussels

Paris- France (PANA) -- Belgian police reportedly arrested about 15 Mauritanians during clashes Saturday between partisans of the ruling Republican Democratic and Social Party (PRDS) and opponents of the Nouakchott regime in Brussels, a rights group disclosed here.
The human rights group OCVIDH (Mauritanian organisation against human rights violations) described the clashes as "serious".
It said in a statement signed by the group's president Mamadou Youssouf Diagana that those arrested were members of the Mauritanian opposition co-ordination in Belgium (COMEB) and Dakaalem, the National Unity Movement).
The clashes occurred during a visit to Belgium by the Mauritanian transportation minister Bocar Soulé Bâ.
The rights group said a delegation member Samba Hawoyel Diop and the delegation's cameraman were injured in the brawl.
