One dies in Senegal gun attack

Dakar, Senegal (PANA) - One person died while three others were injured when the Mayor of a Senegalese municipality shot at gunmen who attacked the premises of the municipality, private television station TFM reported.

Mayor Barthelemy Diaz of Sicap-Mermoz, who is from the opposition, fired at the gunmen, in an apparent self defence, causing the casualties.

The dead and the injured were taken to hospital of Fann in Dakar, while the Mayor, who is being sought by the police, is nowhere to be found.
