OIF resolution urges preparation for Tunis IT summit

Ouagadougou- Burkina Faso (PANA) -- A draft resolution adopted by the political commission of the International Francophonie Organisation urges good preparation for the second phase of the World Summit for the Information Society (WSIS) slated for 2005 in Tunis.
Presented by Tunisia, the resolution urges WSIS to actively participate in the preparatory process and to contribute to the trust fund established by the International Telecommunications Union.
It urges stakeholders to "make WSIS result in the establishment of a real partnership to bridge the digital divide and to harness information and communication technologies for economic, social, political and cultural development.
