ONUCI lists 271 people killed in post-electoral incidents

Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire (PANA) – The deputy spokesperson for the UN Operations in Côte d'Ivoire (ONUCI), Kenneth Blackman, said on Thursday that the mission had listed 11 new cases of people killed this week by security forces loyal to Laurent Gbagbo, taking to 271 the number of victims.

Taking stock of the human rights, Mr Blackman said: "The department of human rights at ONUCI has listed 11 new cases of people killed in Abidjan, Agboville, Daloa, Gagnoa and Agnibilékro by the security forces loyal to Laurent Gbagbo, except the killing of a woman whose murderer has not been identify.

"We have an overall number of at least 271 deaths since the 16 December incident," Mr Blackman said.

About disappearances, he said four new cases of disappearance had been reported to ONUCI over the past seven days, which took to 72 the overall number of people reported to have disappeared.
