Abuja, Nigeria (PANA) - The Nigeria police have said no one died from Tuesday night's explosion near a popular shopping mall in the capital city of Abuja.
“The incident had a zero casualty record- no life lost, no person injured and no car damaged or burnt,” police spokesman Felix Mba said in a statement.
He however acknowledged that a private security guard was reportedly treated for cuts inflicted by shattered window glasses from the impact of the explosion.
The police have yet to disclose the cause of the explosion. which occurred around 9.30pm local time in the glistening capital city.
It was the second of its type in as many weeks. Last week, a similar explosion at a night club set some vehicles ablaze but did not cause casualties.
No one has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks, but they are surely to be linked to the violent Islamic sect Boko Haram, which has previously carried out deadly bomb attacks in the city, including the one on the police headquarters building and the UN offices.
