Nigerian Army says it killed 14 Boko Haram terrorists, rescued 21 civilians on Thursday

Abuja, Nigeria (PANA) – Nigerian Army on Friday said its troops have killed 14 Boko Haram terrorists in northeast Nigeria.

The troops also said they rescued 21 civilians comprising of six women, 11 children and four men who are being attended to at the military hospital.

Nigerian Army Spokesperson, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, said in a statement that the operation occurred on Thursday. The terrorists had earlier ambushed a civilian vehicle in the area on Wednesday night.

According to General Chukwu, troops of 192 Battalion of 26 Task Force Brigade of Operation in conjunction with Civilian Joint Task Force, neutralised 14 Boko Haram terrorists in a village suspected to harbour terrorists that ambushed a civilian vehicle in Pulka on Wednesday, 5 September 2018.

He said the troops engaged and subdued the terrorists following a superior fire power of troops.
