Nigeria: Kano's central motor park bombed

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - A bomb explosion has occurred at the central motor park on Nigeria's northern city of Kano, a day after another northern city was rocked by a twin explosion that left at least 85 dead

The police confirmed Thursday's explosion but said it had no details yet.

"I am heading to the scene now so I don't have the details," said Kano State police command spokesperson, Magaji Majiya.

It is not yet clear who is behind the attack, but the insurgent group Boko Haram has carried out almost daily attacks in the predominantly-Muslim north since the beginning of the year, killing over 2,000 people

Nigeria's former military leader and opposition leader, Muhammadu Buhari, was the target of one of the two bomb attacks in Kaduna on Wednesday

Though he escaped unhurt, his bullet-proof SUV was badly damaged while three of his security officials were injured.
