Nigeria: BADEA’s Board of Directors meets in Nairobi

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - A meeting of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), has been scheduled to take place from 3-5 June in Nairobi, Kenya, according to a BADEA press statement received here by PANA.
According to the statement, the Nairobi meeting, to be Chaired by Yousif Bin Ibrahim Al-Bassam, will be the Second Meeting of BADEA’s Board of Directors for the year 2015.

The statement said the agenda of the meeting includes a number of important issues; spearheaded by the Report of the Director General on the Bank’s activities during the period March –May 2015, in addition to a number of financial reports.

The Board of Directors is expected to approve financing of a new batch of Projects and Technical Assistance operations, in addition to Trade Finance operations, Line of Credit for Private Sector projects, in favour of several African beneficiary countries.

It said that BADEA’s total commitments in Sub-Saharan African Countries (44), have significantly increased since 1975 to reach US$ 4.703.448 million in March 2015, earmarked to finance 608 development projects, 628 technical assistance operations, 45 private sector projects and 31 operations within the framework of Foreign Trade Financing Scheme.
