Niger's media urged to observe Olympic spirit

Niamey- Niger (PANA) -- The director general of the National Organising Committee of the 5th Francophonie Games (CNJF), Seriba Mahamane Lawan, has urged media professionals to observe the Olympic spirit to assure success of the games set for 7-17 December in Niamey, Niger's capital.
"The Olympic spirit supposes a positive and constructive support from the media in the organisation and success of the games," said Lawan, urging the press to avoid anything that could impede the organisation of the games.
"I urge you to do everything that can make them a success," he told the press.
He also called on all socio-professional sectors in the country to unite around the organisation of the games.
"This is an exceptional challenge that we have to take.
I call for truce, and a sacred union of all social sectors of the country around the games," Lawan added.
He commended the press for continuing with its awareness and mobilisation campaign concerning the games.
"CNJF will exclude no media in the organisation of the games.
We need the contribution and support of everybody," said Abdoulaye Mamoudou, chairman of the communication committee.
