Niger, Burkina Faso presidents arrive for Francophonie summit

Kinshasa, DR Congo (PANA) – The president of Niger, Mamadou Issoufou and president Blaise Compaoré of Burkina Faso, arrived in Kinshasa on Friday to attend the 14th Francophonie summit in the Congolese capital.

The two presidents, who were the first to touch down, arrived within 30 minutes of each other and were met at the international airport of N’Djili by the Speaker of Congolese Parliament, Aubin Minaku.

The presidents of Benin, Cameroon, Gabon, Togo and Tunisia are also expected to arrive on Friday.

The Kinshasa summit is under the theme: "Francophonie; Environment, economic stakes and governance."

The summit will bring together 75 heads of State and government.
