Namibian court fines Angolan journalist

Oshakati- Namibia (PANA) -- An Angolan journalist has been slammed a find of 2,000 Namibian dollars or serve 24 months in jail by the Ondangwa Magistrate's Court for entering Namibia with invalid documents.
Victor Vunge, 27, was arrested last month at Omwandi wa Kamanya in Ondangwa.
Vunge faced another count for possessing a passport that had been tampered with - a charge that was later withdrawn.
The journalist, who works for 'Actual Fax' in neighbouring Angola was, a source said, on his way to validate his documents at the Angolan Consulate in Oshakati at the time of his arrest.
Neither police officials nor the source (who elected anonymity) could confirm whether Vunge had paid his fine and been released.
The Angolan Consulate was not available for comment.
