Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – The Libyan National Transitionaal Council (NTC) has demanded the unconditional release of two journalists kidnapped in the city of Bani Walid.
It said the journalists, Youssef Badi and Abdelkader Fassok, should be handed over the competent authority.
In a statement made public on Wednesday in Tripoli, NTC said that the phenomenon of kidnapping aims at destroying the image of the 17 February revolution.
NTC said in the statement that it perceived through its efforts to release the journalists as has been expressed by important persons and wise men.
The statement adds that the NTC has called the people from Bani Walid to release the journalists immediately as an expression of their commitment and to be under the service of the government and institutions.
Two journalists working at a local television channel in Misurata who were returning from covering of the election for national congress in the locality of Mezda in south-West of Tripoli were kidnapped by unknown men.
