Morocco tops African countries making progress in SDGs

Rabat, Morocco (PANA) - Morocco tops African countries making progress in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals, said the 2018 report on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

According to the report by the Sustainable Development Goals Centre for Africa (SDGC/A), based in Kigali, available to PANA on Monday in Rabat, Morocco leads the African continent with a 66.1% achievement rate of objectives, that is, 12 years before the deadline set by the United Nations.

Rwanda, where the SDGCA is headquartered, ranks 11th (out of 51 countries) with a 57.9% achievement rate of the global goals said the report, entitled "Africa SDG Index and Dashboards 2018 Report."

SDGCA Director Dr. Belay Begashaw said the Report needs to be constantly discussed to better help make changes and better plan for the future in order to achieve the SDGs in all sectors.

The Report analysed aspects of nutrition, health, housing, education, ICT and inequalities.
