Morocco calls for OIF help to host Expo-2012

Rabat- Morocco (PANA) -- Morocco has called for support from the International Organisation of the Francophonie (OIF) for its bid to host the 2012 World Exposition in the northern city of Tangiers, Moroccan news agency MAP reported on Thursday, adding that the request was made at the 22nd session of the OIF Ministerial Conference in Bucharest.
MAP said Morocco also called for the OIF's support for its bid to be elected to the council of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).
The election will during the ITU conference scheduled 6-24 November in Antalya, Turkey.
Morocco's Najat Rochidi is also running for the position of director of the Telecommunications Development Bureau (TDB) of the ITU.
Morocco wishes to host the 2012 World Exposition in Tangiers, in the Strait of Gibraltar under the theme, "Routes of the World.
