The number of candidates by stream was as follows: 103,166 candidates in the science stream and 24,592 students in the arts stream are taking their first English exams today, while 542 students in the religious education stream are taking their exams in the Koran and the rules of its recitation, according to a press release issued by the Libyan Ministry of Education.

Speaking on the occasion, Libya's acting Minister of Education, Ali Al-Abed Al-Rida, urged students to be diligent, rigorous and time-conscious, to concentrate on their studies and to avoid cheating.
The Minister also congratulated the education inspectors in the municipalities and the exam monitoring committees for their dedicated efforts in organizing the tests as planned.
The director of the examination centre, Sayed Ahmed Massoud, urged students to keep their examination papers and not to hand them over to anyone, even after leaving the examination hall.
He stressed that any dissemination of exam papers on social networks during the exam period exposes students to the risk of having their exams cancelled.
The Ministry warns students against bringing mobile phones, recording devices or any other electronic equipment, as well as calculators and any study material (books, notes and exercise books) into the examination room, as this constitutes an attempt to cheat.
