Misrata-Tunis flights resume after several months of interruption

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) -After an interruption of several months, flights between Misrata airport, 220 km east of Tripoli, and Tunis, Tunisia, resumed on Friday from Misarata international airport.

Flights between Libya and Tunisia started resumed early November 2020 after an agreement between the two countries on a health protocol to prevent the coronavirus pandemic.

Misrata airport management said in a statement on Saturday that "everything went according to plan, after finalising the project to convert the airport's arrival hall into an arrival and departure lounge".

The lounge will be used temporarily until  construction of a new departure terminal is completed. The former building was destroyed by fire that broke out in the departure lounge in August last year.
