Mauritius launches 'zero plastic'

Grand Baie, Mauritius (PANA) - Mauritian Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Deva Virahsawmy, Monday launched the concept of "zero plastic" to minimise the use of this product in the island.

"It is high time we stopped using plastic bags" said the Minister, in Grand Baie in the north of the island, as part of World Environment Day, celebrated on 5 June every year.

The Minister also inaugurated an exhibition on recycling, the use of green and environment-friendly products and services as well as on clean energy.
