Mauritius declares 15 Dec, day of mourning for Mandela

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) - The Mauritian government Friday announced that 15 December, 2013, the day the former South African president, Nelson Mandela, will buried, will be declared a day of mourning in the island.  

A communiqué issued after the weekly Cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Navin Ramgoolam, said a minute silence will also be observed at the time the body of Mandela will be lowered into the grave on 15 December.

The Mauritian government has also decided to put up a memorial in honour of the late South African president.
