Mauritius: Malagasy President to be chief guest at Mauritius National Day

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) - The President of the Republic of Madagascar Mr Hery Rajaonarimampianina will be the chief guest of the Government of Mauritius at celebrations marking the 48th Independence Day of Mauritius on 12 March 2016 in Port-Louis, official sources told PANA on Thursday in the Mauritian capital.

In a communiqué, the Prime Minister's Office said the Malagasy President will, besides attending the flag raising ceremony at Champ de Mars in Port-Louis, pay a courtesy call on the Mauritian President, Mrs Ameenah Gurib-Fakim.

He would also have a meeting with Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth and exchange Memoranda of Understanding and agreements.

Furthermore, Mr Rajaonarimampianina will have working sessions with members of the business community, the Indian Ocean Commission (IOC) and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA).
