Mauritius: Air Mauritius orders six A350-900 planes

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) - Mauritian national career Air Mauritius has ordered four A350-900 aircraft and will also be leasing two more of the same planes to be used on the European, Asian and Australian routes, Air Mauritius' Chief Executive Officer Andries Viljoen said.

He said the A350 XWB, combined with the A330, suits the airline's entire long-range network.

''It will be key to modernising our fleet while significantly reducing our operational costs and environmental footprint. It is the game-changer we were looking for,'' he said.

Viljoen indicated that the A350 XWB is Airbus' all-new mid-size long-range product line that comprises of three versions offering from 276 to 369 seats.

Currently, Air Mauritius operates ten Airbus aircraft including two A330-200s and two A319s.
