Mandela lauds Mt Everest hero

Johannesburg- South Africa (PANA) -- Former South African president Nelson Mandela Tuesday hailed Sibusiso Vilane, the first black South African to climb Mount Everest as "a real hero.
" Mandela, who congratulated Vilane when the latter met the celebrated statesman at his office in Houghton, Johannesburg said Vilane had set a challenge for all the youth in Africa.
Vilane, a Swazi-born game ranger, reached the top of the 8,848- metre peak of Mount Everest on 26 May to become South Africa's first black to make it to the summit.
