Malian president to attend CEN-SAD summit

Bamako- Mali (PANA) -- Malian President Amadou Toumani Toure leaves Bamako on Mo nday for Cotonou, Benin, to attend the 10th Summit of the Community of the Sahel o -Saharan States (CEN-SAD).
Official sources in Bamako said on Sunday that the Malian president would leave Bamako on Monday afternoon.
CEN-SAD was established on 4 February 1998 as the outcome of a Conference of Lea ders and Heads of State held in Tripoli, Libya.
It was established by six countr i es, but since then its membership has grown to 25.
One of its main goals is to achieve economic unity through the implementation of the free movement of people and goods in order to make the area occupied by mem b er states a free trade area.
