Mali: Information ministry, media sign agreement on professional treatment of Ebola

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – The Malian ministry of Digital Economy, Information and Communication on Thursday signed a protocol with the print and electronic media in the West African country for the "professional handling" of information on the deadly Ebola epidemic.

Initiated by the Malian ministry of Health and Public Hygiene and that of Digital Economy, Information and Communication, the day was marked by a conference led by Professor Daouda Minta, specialist in infectious and tropical diseases at the University hospital centre of Point-G in Bamako.

According to the minister of Digital Economy, Information and Communication, Mahamadou Camara, the Malian government was committed to be transparent on the Ebola virus disease hence media personnel should also be responsible.

Professor Minta made a presentation on symptoms, transmission modes, diagnosis and treatment of the EVD.
