Mali: Govt. launches new policy to protect children

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - The Malian government will launch a national policy for the promotion and protection of children in Mali under its five-year (2015-2019) action plan which implementation will cost 27.812 billion CFA francs, PANA learnt Monday from the Malian ministry in charge of children.

The objective of the policy is to contribute to the creation of a legal and institutional environment for the promotion and protection of children.

Mali first adopted a national action plan for the survival, development and protection of children in 1991-2001 and again in 2002-2006, it adopted a plan to promote families and children.

The implementation of the policies enabled Mali record significant progress in areas such as education, health, and the protection of children.
