Mali: Govt cautions public in Mali to heed preventive measures against Ebola

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – As long as the Ebola virus disease has not been eradicated from neighbouring countries, the government in Mali has urged the public to maintain cleanliness and use toll-free telephone lines to report any suspected case of the disease to health authorities.

The country's health ministry Wednesday issued a public notice underlining the importance of public hygiene and for individuals to wash hands with clean water and to avoid kissing and handshakes as much as possible.

No case of Ebola has been reported in Mali since 16 December 2014.

According to the country's emergency operational centre for Ebola disease, blood tests carried out on 11-12 January 2015 on two suspected cases were negative.
