Libyan airline company resumes flights to Tunisia

Tunis Tunisia (PANA) - The Libyan air transport company made its first flight on Monday from Tripoli International Airport, Maatig, to Tunis Carthage International Airport, after a break of several months due to the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

The Libyan air transport company has scheduled three weekly flights, sources in Tunis said.

The Tunisian Ministry of Transport affirmed last Friday the decision to resume flights between the two countries from 15 November.

The Tunisian Minister of Transport, Maaz Chakchouk, also announced on Saturday that the first flight of the Tunisian Air Transport Company, TunisAir, will take place on 20 November.

Mr. Chakchouk added in a press statement that TunisAir has scheduled two daily flights to the airports of Tripoli and Benghazi.

Tunisia closed its land, sea and air borders on 17 March, as part of preventive measures against the spread of the coronavirus. It announced  the partial resumption of flights on 27 June.
