Libyan PM holds talks with president Ouattara

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia (PANA) – The Prime minister of the Libyan interim government, Ali Zidane, on Monday held talks in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, with the Ivorian president, Alassane Ouattara, during the just-ended African Union summit.

A Libyan source said the talks focused on cooperation between their two countries and African issues, particularly the Malian crisis and the ongoing operation with the support of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to retake northern Mali, which was seized by jihadists last year.

The source said they also discussed the consequences of the operation on regional security and trans-border terrorism.

The Libyan Prime minister, who spoke to the press, reaffirmed his country's attachment to develop balanced ties with African countries in general and Cote d'Ivoire in particular.
