Libyan Council chairman invited to Arab summit in Algeria in November

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, received here on Thursday the Algerian special envoy to the president of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Ibrahim Mourad, with a message from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

The message included an invitation to Al-Manfi to participate in the next Arab League summit in early November in Algeria.

Present at the meeting with Mr. Al-Lafi were the acting minister of Interior, minister of Local Authorities, Badreddine Al-Toumi, and the Algerian ambassador to Libya, Sleiman Chenine,

The Algerian special envoy stressed "Algeria's willingness to strengthen the frameworks of bilateral cooperation between the two brotherly countries," said a statement of the Presidential Council.

The chairman of the Presidential Council asked the Algerian envoy "to convey his greetings to his brother, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune," welcoming the invitation extended to him, the same source said.

He expressed the aspiration of the Presidential Council to work with Algeria to ensure the success of the Arab Summit in promoting joint Arab action.

The Libyan official affirmed, according to the statement, "Libya's pride in the historical and social relations that bind it to its brotherly neighbour Algeria and its people.
