Libya raises awareness on HIV/AIDS

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libya has used the commemoration of the World AIDS Day 2010 to raise awareness about the disease.

The observance of the day continued in Libya Thursday, when school children from Tripoli visited the tent set up at the Place Verte in the Libyan capital, as part of awareness-raising campaign.

The school children sang songs conveying important messages about the disease, including modes of transmission and how to prevent it.

The tent also contained posters on information about the disease, as well as children's drawings on the pandemic.

The campaign was organised by the Libyan Disease control centre, under the patronage of the Secretary General of the Libyan charity Association Waatassimou, Dr. Aisha Muammar Kadhafi, who is a Goodwill Ambassador of the United Nations.
