Libya and Egypt agree resumption of regular flights from 30 September

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libya's Civil Aviation Authority  and its counterpart in Egypt have agreed to take the necessary steps to resume flights between the airports of Maitiga in Tripoli, Misrata and Benina in Benghazi and Cairo International Airport from September 30, the national unity government has announced.

National unity government government spokesman  Mohamed Hamouda wrot on his Facebook page that the agreement came after the recent visit of Prime Minister Abdelhamid Al-Dbaiba to Egypt, during which a number of deals were signed with the Egyptian side.

These include the memorandum of cooperation between the Ministry of Transport of the national unity government and its Egyptian counterpart.

On Friday, Libyan Minister of Transport Mohamed Al-Choubi met with Egyptian Minister of Aviation Mohamed Manar to discuss the resumption of flights by Libyan companies to Cairo airport, within the framework of Libya's participation in the eleventh session of the Libyan-Egyptian Joint High Commission, which ended on Thursday.
