Libya: Libyan Airlines resumes weekly Tripoli-Algiers flights

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Libyan Airlines will resume its weekly direct flight between Tripoli and Algiers on Tuesday, an official of the airline said here Saturday.

Flights between the two national capitals of Libya and Algeria were suspended in July 2014 after 'Fajr Libya' militias destroyed Tripoli International Airport and seized the city.

According to air travel industry sources here, the resumption the flights on this route will facilitate the movement of Libyans to European Union countries from Algeria, following the ban of Libyan planes from entering the airspace of those countries.

Libyan Airlines currently uses Maitigua International Airport in Tripoli for all its flights.
