Libya: Fresh fighting breaks out between rival armed groups in Tripoli

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Fierce fighting broke out on Monday evening between rival armed groups in the zone of Ghout al-Chaal, in the southern suburb of the Libyan capital, Tripoli.

Reliable sources said that the direct cause of Monday’s violence was the killing of a man named Souleiman Bougataya in Kabao by the Jibril Abeia militia.

The sources said that paramilitary militia attacked and captured the general headquarters of the militia of Abeia at Ghout al-Chaal to avenge the death of Bougataya.

Witnesses say that the exchange of fire with light and heavy weapons could be heard in the area and business were closed while the streets were deserted.
