Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – Arab League Secretary General Nabil Elaraby said Thursday he welcomed the nomination of Martin Kobler as Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) to succeed Bernardino Leon.

In a press statement, Mr Elaraby wished Mr Kobler "total success" in his new duties, notably the resumption of Libyan national dialogue and the continuation of what has been agreed by the different Libyan parties.

He assured Mr Kobler of the availability of the Arab League and its continued cooperation in finding the desired political resolution of the Libyan crisis for the people of Libya to achieve peace, and to preserve the country's unity, independence and political stability.
