Kigali, Rwanda (PANA) - A week-long forum for members of the Pan-African Youth Organisation Against HIV/AIDS (PAYA) was held in Kigali, capital of Rwanda, under the theme "Let us unite and fight together against AIDS", PANA reported from here Tuesday.

The meeting, which brings together participants from 10 African countries, including Rwanda, aims to strengthen and mobilize the youth organizations of African countries in the fight against AIDS, according to an official consulted by PANA in Kigali.

In Rwanda, the HIV/AIDS rate is high (1.9 per cent) among young people aged between 15 and 18, while the country has about 300,000 people living with HIV, the source said.
