Kibaki off to AU Banjul summit

Nairobi- Kenya (PANA) -- Kenyan President Mwai Kibaki left here Wednesday for Banjul, the Gambia, to attend the 7th African Union (AU) Summit of Heads of State and Government.
He will also attend a meeting of the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), during which the APRM secretariat will present reports on Kenya and Rwanda.
The APRM forum is slated to start Friday.
Kenya is among four countries chosen for APRM's pilot programme.
In a related development, Kenya's former planning minister, Prof Anyang' Nyong'o, has been appointed to an APRM team to assess South Africa.
