Kenyans dominate men's steeplechase at Grand Premio Brasil

Nairobi, Kenya (PANA) - Kenya's Nicholas Bett and Barnabas Kipyego took the first and second positions respectively in the men's 3000 metres steeplechase race at the Grande Premio Brasil de Atletico Braganca Paulista meet in Brazil on Sunday.

Bett emerged the winner after clocking 8:27.03, followed by Kipyego, who returned 8:30.43. Brazil's Altobeli da Silva was third in 8:32.46.    

In the women's 3000 metres Steeplechase, Ethiopia's Bityukan Adamu won in 9:59.97, followed by Brazilians Tatiane da Silva and Simone Ponte Ferraz in second and third positions respectively. Tatiane returned 10:11.27 while Ponte posted 10:27.54              

The hosts, American and Caribbean athletes dominated the short races and field events.
