Kabila, Sassou Nguesso discuss DR Congo, CAR

Brazzaville- Congo (PANA) -- Presidents Joseph Kabila of DR Congo and Denis Sassou-Nguesso of Congo have condemned recent massacres in Ituri, and praised the UN Security Council for deploying an emergency multinational force in Bunia, Congolese public radio announced here Thursday.
It said both presidents discussed events in DR Congo and Central African Republic (CAR) during Kabila's one-day visit here Wednesday.
They reaffirmed support for the eventual holding of an international conference for peace, security and development in the Great Lakes region, the radio quoted a joint communiqué issued after their discussions.
They hoped that the determination of all the parties to become resolutely involved in establishing transition institutions, national reconciliation and the effective recovery of DR Congo's sovereignty would be concretised.
Regarding the Central African Republic, Kabila and Sassou-Nguesso commended efforts by the junta leader, Gen.
Francois Bozize, to reconcile the country for speedy return peace, security and stability there.
